2019 Award Recipients
Each season awards are given out at the mid-season mark and after the season has been concluded. The awards are divided typically into three categories: Junior (12 to 15yrs old), Senior (16 to 28yrs old) and Antique (29yrs old and onwards). These are handed out by the League Commissionaire, Michael O'Hearon and are based on his observations during the games.

COACH OF THE YEAR:
Damon Wamboldt, Yellow
A voice of reason and a player that started by setting the example and then asked the same of his teammates. He was the first with a high five when a teammate found success and looked to put players in a position to not only develop their skills and to be successful. Despite having a tough season as a team he found ways to engage every player and was often complimented by other players from around the league for his leadership and sportsmanship.

SUBSTITUTE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Sam Jess
The Big Fundamental was a game changer for any team that he suited up for. With bone-crunching screens, deft defence, and timely shooting he made every team he played for better. Opponents who thought they had an advantage when the other team was short quickly discovered that when Sam Jess laced them up they had to work just a little bit harder. A positive addition to any team and to the league whenever he was there.
Runners Up:
K.Cole & J.Wentzell

PLAYOFF PERFORMER OF THE YEAR:
Michael O'Hearon, Orange
One of the hardest awards to assign this season as there were so many solid performers in the championship game but this one goes to one of the elder statesmen of the game. He hit the boards at both ends of the court and defended ferociously each and every shift. In the end he was the high scorer and some timely three pointers helped spread the gap before the final shift took over.

LEAGUE MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:
Matthew Statton, Orange
On day one when asked which shift he wanted to be on - "I want to finish" - and finish he did all season. An intense competitor that at times took over games when needed but who also spread the ball around to make sure everyone was involved in the game. He was a staunch defender, guarding the oppositions top offensive threat, and the loudest cheerleader on the bench, urging his team on to victory. A fierce competitor and a stellar teammate he was a leader on the undefeated Orange team and this year's MVP.
